A little over a year ago as I was leaving Target
I was blessed
I am blessed
I am always blessed
It’s simple
It was a simple blessing
It made me remember that God is always with me
Here’s a story that shows He’s always looking out
I am a teacher
The staff bathroom is on opposite side of the building, literally a two minute walk
Not relevant to this story
I just want you to know the struggle
Ok, as a nursing mother, I must drink a lot of water
I keep a case of water at work, a case of water in my car
Either in the trunk or a few bottles on the floor of the backseat
So when I saw this water at Target, I knew it was for me.
Imagine I’m getting into my car and a shopping cart just cool rolls past, diagonally
Not so that it’s blocking my exit or anything, but enough that its vector and presence were quite attention grabbing
I then pulled up to the next row of parking spaces to see
Was there a car or van or person who had just pushed this cart diagonally across the parking lot?
There was no one
Was there anyone driving out the parking lot from that direction?
I really did look around
I didn’t see anyone
What would you have done?
Let me tell you what I did
I grabbed the case of water and put it safely in my backseat
It was special
It came from God
That case of water was a blessing
Because I usually keep water in my car
Either in the backseat or in the trunk
But after this particularly long day I didn’t and I hadn’t remembered to grab a bottle off my desk or stop by the corner store to get some
I just left work, thirsty and tired
I went to go get my baby and husband then we drove the hour commute home
He unpacked the day of work and daycare from the car
Then I jetted back out to hit a few stores, Target being first on my list
At my first store stop, God gave me water
I had worked all day, driven home, and set back out to accomplish more
I was already out spending money on my students (my babies as I affectionately call them)
I was doing something good for others, but I wasn’t taking care of myself
God gave me water
I was blessed
I am blessed
I am always blessed
It’s simple
It was a simple blessing
It made me remember that God is always with me
That water was a blessing
Thank you Lord

Sometimes we can undermine our blessing simply because we expect a whole lot. Reading this piece is an eye opening that our blessing comes in different forms when we least expect it. There is a lesson in this and I think I like how you graciously received your blessings and shared your testimony.
